Update, 12/14, 11:30 a.m.: The day after meeting with Donald Trump, Kanye West took to Twitter to reveal the president-elect gave him a signed version of his TIME Person of the Year issue. "To Kanye you are a great friend thanks," the dedication reads. The rapper tweeted a photo of the gift.
"I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues," he said, ditching his all-caps tweeting style and for a straight-forward announcement.
"These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago," he said in an additional tweet.
"I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change," he explained. Then he capped off the string of posts with a tweet that simply read: "#2024" possibly alluding to the election cycle two terms from now. (The rapper had previously announced that he wanted to run for president in 2020-perhaps he's changed his mind?)
Take a look at the posts via the screenshots below below and on West's Twitter.
Update, 11:15 a.m.: Many questions continue to surround Kanye West's unexpected meeting with president-elect Donald Trump this morning. After the two met in Trump Tower, they were met by reporters in the lobby and barely hinted at what they discussed.
"We've been friends for a long time," Trump told reporters as he stood by West, who stayed silent with his arms crossed.
"Life. We discussed life," the president elect said of their meeting. West, on the other hand didn't respond to any questions, even when he was asked whether he'd perform at the inauguration or if he'd still run for president in 2020.
"I just want to take a picture right now," is all the rapper said.

Original post, 10:25 a.m.: Kanye West has been spotted at Trump Tower in New York City to meet with the president-elect, Donald Trump's spokesperson, Hope Hicks confirmed. No details were given yet on why the meeting took place or what they discussed.
West arrived at the hotel lobby in Manhattan at around 9 a.m. EST with his entourage and a videographer, according to Business Insider. He was also sporting his new blonde hair. Watch his entrance below:
His hospitalization followed a string of bizarre events where he ranted about Hillary Clinton, Beyoncé and Jay Z during a show, stopped a concert short and revealed he didn't vote in the election but would have voted for Trump if he did.
