Botswana president arrives tomorrow for 3-day state visit to Mozambique

Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi will undertake a state visit to Mozambique from October 31 to November 2 at the invitation of President Filipe Nyusi.
A press release from the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation states that the visit will strengthen relations that exist between Botswana and Mozambique.
The two presidents will deliberate on bilateral, regional and international issues of common interest, with the view to broaden the scope of cooperation and review progress on projects with a regional dimension such as the Limpopo River Basin Commission (LIMCOM), the Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM), and the Ponta Techobanine Railway Project.
Botswana and Mozambique cooperate in many areas including agriculture, health, energy, defence, culture, transport, environment, and wildlife and tourism.
The state visit will be preceded by the sixth session of the Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC) between the Botswana and Mozambique at the ministerial level from October 29 to 30.
President Masisi will be accompanied by Dr Unity Dow, Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation; Mr Shaw Kgathi, Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Kitso Mokaila, Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Eric Molale, Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, Mr Patrick Ralotsia, Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi, Member of Parliament for Francistown South; Kgosi Moeti Moeti, Tawana Tribal Authority as well as senior government Officials. The president and his entourage will return to Botswana on October 3.
