New Delhi: Mamta Kulkarni who has been arrested in Kenya along with her husband Vicky Goswami is still in the custody and it seems like the story behind her arrest is more complicated than it seems.
Vicky Goswami the husband of 90s sex bomb of Bollywood Mamata Kulkarni is a convicted criminal who spent 15 years in a Dubai Jail. He was convicted of smuggling a banned drug Mandrax to the Middle Eastern city.
The crackdown on drug mafias in Kenya led to the arrest of Goswami, a known Kenyan drug mafia Barakat Akasha and a Pakistani drug lord Ghulam Hussain. The report published in a leading daily suggests that the information to the Police was provided by Dawood Ibrahim.
Mamta’s husband Vicky is said to be close to Don Chhota Rajan who is a known rival of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Associates of Vicky Akasha and Hussain are rivals of another African drug mafia Mohammad Bashir Suleman popularly known as MBS.
It is reported that Dawood and MBS made a plan to get rid of their rivals, following which they gave the information to Kenyan Police.
The Kenyan police then shared the information with US Drug Enforcement Agency and arrested Vicky, Mamta and their associates.
Indian Mafias are known for their proximity with Bollywood actors. All the Mumbai Dons from Haji Mastan to Abu Salem have been associated with Bollywood actresses in one way or the other. Bollywood actors have shared good bonds with them and were rumoured to perform at their private functions.
Mamta Kulkarni marrying Vicky Goswami is just one of the many cases of Bollywood’s mafia connection. When Goswami was in jail it was Mamta who looked after his real estate business in Mumbai. While he was in Jail both converted to Islam and got married in an Islamic marriage ceremony.
It is also reported that Mamta has only been detained and not officially arrested.
